Truly a remote wilderness location, Argyle Lake Lodge is set in the James Bay Frontier Bush. Miles from our nearest neighbour, we are the only tourist camp on a series of four lakes. We offer an excellent atmosphere for family vacations. Hunt for moose, bear and grouse, fish for northern pike, walleye, bass, and perch, and explore infinite hiking, ATV and canoeing possibilities, or just relax on our natural sandy beach. Within the perimeters of the camp your time can be spent swimming on our sandy beach, canoeing and water-skiing. Hiking in the woods can provide hours of fun with activities such as rock hunting, and picking wild blueberries and raspberries. Additional activities around the camp include volleyball, horseshoes, badminton and a children’s playground. Inside, there’s a recreation hall with a T.V., pool table, shuffleboard and ping pong. Of course the main activities are fishing and hunting. There’s a wide variety of fish species to choose from including Walleye (pickerel), Northern Pike, Perch, Whitefish, Bass, Lake and Speckled Trout. You can rent one of our boats or bring your own and enjoy endless hours of fishing pleasure. Once you’ve caught your fill, clean them in our fully equipped fish cleaning house and freeze them for the trip home in our freezers. If you’re new to the area there’s a guide service available to help you locate the hot spots for fishing. For the real enthusiast a fly-in service is also available.

Shining Tree offers a variety of lakes with various species of fish such as Walleye, Pike, Bass and 4 different kinds of trout. Moose, bear, grouse and other small game provide excellent hunting. We have Hunting and Fishing Packages available. Wintertime offers dozens of frozen lakes for ice fishing as well as miles of old roads and lakes for Cross-Country Skiing.
